Work Shown Below
Jake grew up in New Orleans, surrounded by colorful characters and their stories, which seeded his love for narrative. His first jobs had him performing as a stilt walker in Mardi Gras parades. Jake soon came to his senses and abandoned performing for filmmaking. As a mentor once said perfectly: filmmaking is “the most fun you can have with your clothes on.”
After studying directing at Indiana University and the University of Auckland, New Zealand, Jake settled in New York City. His Addy-award winning work has taken him across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Jake’s directing style lets the camera linger, capturing the beauty in the small moments and details of every-day-life. That aesthetic and his fearlessness navigating both executive conference rooms and film sets have helped him build strong and lasting relationships with his clients and collaborators.
When Jake’s not directing, he’s renovating an ancient Brooklyn townhouse with his wife or feeding their backyard chickens.
